Who We Are
How It All Started
Founded by Rabiu Elijah Omolaja (a licensed professional counselor, and Ph.D. in psychology) in 1999; Soul for Christ Ministry Inc. is a Christ-Centered, tax-exempt, community support, social service agency located in the Oak Cliff area in Dallas County, and is devoted to enhancing the lives of the people it serves. Our mission is to help bridge the gap between the individuals and their unmet needs while, at the same time, educating participants on how to work toward self-sufficiency.
Soul for Christ Ministry was located originally on Ferguson Road in East Dallas, Texas. Due to an increase in growth, however, the agency moved to 902 Garza Avenue, Dallas Texas in 1988. In just about 5 years later (2013), the Ministry moved to 3817 Lancaster Road, and then, finally, in March of 2015, Soul for Christ Ministry, Inc. moved to its present location: 2402 S. Beckley Av. Dallas TX.
Our Founder; Elijah Omolaja
Brother Elijah became a Christian and received a call into the ministry in July of 1974. He ran away from God’s calling for almost 5 years but eventually answered the call in January of 1979. Then, a few years later he enrolled in a bible college and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education, and a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University. Brother Elijah is a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed by the State of Texas. He has a Doctoral Degree in Psychology. Brother Elijah is the author of “Thy Will O Lord,” a book published by Tate Publishing Company in 2007.
The Underlying Goal
In early 2016, the Lord spoke to me about building a facility called an Institute for Human Enhancement, a facility where the mentally ill can come for a combination of interventions including but not limited to Nutritional foods, Affordable housing, Life skills training, Health education, Cognitive restructuring, Behavioral counseling, Computer classes for those that can benefit from it, Bible study and continual fervent Prayers for those desiring spiritual growth. The current traditional approach is too costly and less effective because it falls short of ministering to the whole person: Body, Soul, and Spirit.
